One of the biggest names in poker is just one day away from playing on the sport's biggest stage.

Daniel Negreanu is one of 27 players left in the Main Event of the World Series of Poker. A total of 6,420 players put up $10,000 each to fight for the first prize of $7.6 million.
After six days of play, three tables remain.
Negreanu is clearly the most famous player remaining, and maybe the best-known poker player, period. He is the winningest player in the sport's history, with more than $30 million in live (as opposed to online) cashes. His talkative nature has earned him fans—365,000 people follow his Twitter account (@RealKidPoker), as well as sponsors. He's backed by the world's biggest online poker site, PokerStars, which is owned by Amaya.

He's scheduled this summer to be part of "The Let California Play! PokerStars Pro Tour," where he'll visit casinos in the state to push for approval of regulated online poker in California.
For now, however, there's a tournament to finish. Play resumes Tuesday at noon Las Vegas time and goes until nine players are left. Those players become the "November 9" as the tournament pauses until November, when ESPN will air the final table live.
