The number of registered jobless in Spain fell by 2.24 percent in December from a month earlier, or by 107,570 people, leaving 4.7 million people out of work, data from the Labour Ministry showed on Friday.

It was the biggest drop ever for a month of December, and the second biggest drop for any month in the history of the data.
Monthly registered jobless data from the Labour Ministry compares to the National Statistics Institute quarterly unemployment survey, considered a better guide to the total number of people out of work, of 26 percent in the third quarter.
