Cramer’s most asked about stock? It’s not Apple

Jim Cramer said Thursday there's one stock in particular that viewers ask him about the most—and it's no longer Apple.

"[3D Systems] is the stock that is now most asked about. It has supplanted Apple even as, 'Hey, when's 3D going to go back? When's 3D going to go back?'" Cramer said on "Squawk on the Street."

Questions about the 3-D printing company seem warranted, though, especially considering the stock's wild ride over the past year. The stock has been volatile, going from around $30 to roughly $96 a share in a matter of months. But lately, the stock has struggled to keep its momentum. Shares currently trade at around $61.

To Cramer, the stock's chart is nothing but alarming.

3D Systems 1-year

"This is one of the worst head and shoulders patterns I have ever seen," Cramer said, adding that between competition from Hewlett-Packard and a surprise quarterly loss from rival ExOne, he is "very uncomfortable saying this is the bottom, which is what a lot of people feel."

A request for comment from 3D Systems was not returned.

Disclosure: Cramer's charitable trust does not own shares of 3D Systems.
